About the Role:
We’re looking for a Material Handler – Shipping & Receiving to join our dynamic operations team. In this role, you’ll ensure materials and products flow smoothly in and out of our facility, supporting production and delivery processes that keep our customers delighted. Essential Job Functions:
  • Perform all necessary labor duties related to shipping, receiving, packaging, and labeling of manufactured products. 
  • Required to comprehend and apply automated and manual material management practices with accuracy (e.g., FIFO, quantities consumed, SAP program)
  • Operate production machinery and equipment (e.g., forklifts, etc.) in a safe manner as outlined by company policies and manufacturer's instructions.
  • Receive/Ship and store materials into and out of facility under the guidelines of Standard Operating Procedures (S.O.P.'s) and Takasago procedures and guidelines..
  • Receive, pack, seal, label, and ship all finished products as required per established shipping modes (etc., FedEx/UPS/LTL-FTL processes and procedures).
  • Ensure accurate physical and system receipt of inbound material, precise sampling and accurate put away and location recording in SAP.
  • Stretch Wrap and Stage Finished Products for shipping per applicable (Bill of Ladings and/or sales orders).
  • On and off loading of materials from delivery trucks.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions applicable to the handling, measurements, etc. of various chemical ingredients and products. 
  • Demonstrate leadership in learning and consistently applying company safety policies, practices and procedures in a manner that prevents injuries and other operational losses.
  • Work overtime on an as-needed basis..
  • Responsible for reporting hazardous situations and EHS concerns, so that action can be taken.
  • Responsible to consistently apply EHS considerations to protect health and safety of oneself and others’ and prevent adverse effects to environment.

Qualifications & Experience: 
  • 1–2 years in manufacturing or warehouse operations (flavor or fragrance industry a plus).
  • Skills: Forklift operation required; handheld scanner experience and SAP proficiency preferred.
  • Knowledge: Basic math and computer literacy; comfort working with chemical handling procedures.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hand to finger, handle, feel objects, tools, or controls and climb or balance. The employee is regularly required to walk; stand: reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear during an 8-hour work shift. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds of materials on a repetitive basis. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may handle hazardous chemicals, solvents or mixtures. The employee will be required to wear all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, eye protection, gloves, uniforms and safety shoes. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Physical demand requirements are at levels of those for active work.
